As part of techconsult's "Professional User Rating: Human Resources 2026" vendor comparison, 39 HR software and HR suite providers were comprehensively evaluated. We explain how the vendors scored across the various categories and why the results make a compelling case for HRlab.

A Comparison Grounded in Daily Practice
The study is based on a large-scale user survey involving 5,940 business experts who actively use HR software solutions in their daily operations.
This practical approach makes the study particularly valuable: rather than reflecting theoretical assessments, the results showcase real-world feedback from users who work with these solutions every single day. This provides a realistic picture of the performance and utility of current HR suites and specialized HR tools—a critical advantage for HR leaders looking to make well-informed software selection decisions.
What Makes HRlab a Cloud HR Suite?
HRlab qualifies as a Cloud HR Suite because it is a fully integrated, web-based HR platform that consolidates all essential HR processes into a single solution. Rather than relying on isolated standalone modules (such as time tracking or recruiting), it operates as an all-in-one solution that centrally manages data, workflows, and reporting.
HRlab Named Champion Again for 2027
The "Professional User Rating: Human Resources 2027" study conducted by techconsult once again offers deep, real-world insights into the market for digital HR solutions.
HR Software Evaluation Methodology
The evaluation covered ten product areas and is based on two central dimensions: the Company Rating (vendor evaluation) and the Technology/Solution Rating (solution evaluation). Around 60 individual criteria across 14 subcategories were factored into the final results.
The Company Rating takes into account aspects such as:
- Support
- Pricing and modularity
- Training offerings
- Vendor satisfaction in the context of the solution
The Solution Rating evaluates factors including:
- Core software features
- Practical utility
- Product loyalty & recommendation
Finally, the "PUR Diamonds" highlight those vendors that score above average in both vendor and solution ratings while maintaining a sufficiently high volume of user reviews. This classification provides HR decision-makers with valuable guidance when selecting and evaluating HR suites in the market.
How the PUR Diamond Visualizes the Results
The study results are visualized in the PUR Diamond—a two-dimensional matrix balanced on its point that illustrates the positioning of top vendors within a specific solution area. The higher a vendor ranks in the diamond, the higher its overall score. Securing a strong position requires a vendor to deliver convincing performance across both evaluation dimensions—at the company level as well as through its solution.

The horizontal axis of the diamond differentiates between Company Excellence and Solution/Technology Excellence. Vendors that stand out for their exceptionally strong technological capabilities and high user satisfaction are positioned on the left side of the diagram. Providers with an above-average company profile—such as in innovation strength, service, or market appearance—are located on the right side.
A balanced ratio between both dimensions characterizes the group of Balanced Vendors. When companies significantly exceed the evaluation threshold in both areas, they are awarded the title of Champion. Vendors positioned between a balanced and excellent result receive the designation of High Performer. HRlab was named a Champion in the following categories:
| Category | HRlab Named Champion |
|---|---|
| Cloud HR Suite | X |
| Digital Personnel File | X |
| Payroll | X |
| Time Management | X |
Because the boundaries of the PUR Diamond dynamically adjust to each specific solution category, the visualization delivers an accurate comparison of market participants. This enables HR leaders to evaluate the core strengths and strategic focus areas of different HR suites at a single glance. You can find the complete study results in our downloads section.
